Dreams, mysticism and melancholy are recurring themes within Leah Rye's music. The Amsterdam-based singer-songwriter participated in the Popronde in 2021, played a series of solo shows in London and two sold-out gigs at Bitterzoet in honor of the release of her EP 'Elusive'. With that EP, she was also invited to Radio 2, 3FM and KINK. In the fall of 2023, Leah Rye toured with the Popronde as a duo. She was in high demand and was named OOR Talent.

The contrast between light and dark, between alone and together, and the complexity of interpersonal relationships define the threads of her songs. Her sources of inspiration range from Radiohead to Lana Del Rey and Taylor Swift, with a dreamy sound that lies between pop noir and electronica.

On Oct. 13, 2023, consciously released through her own label Moonward Records, Leah Rye's debut record "Symbiosis," an album about being in symbiosis with the different sides of yourself and feeling safe (enough) to let your own voice be heard. A personal story, in which she opens up and shows herself. For this album she joined forces with, among others, singer and pianist Ruben Hein and the neoclassical composer Lucas van Kesteren.
