Teacher Sergio Correa arrives in good spirits at his new school in Matamoros, Mexico. He soon discovers that the school has few resources and even less enthusiasm to teach the youngsters. They often come from difficult home situations and achieve the lowest test scores in the country. He decides to completely change course and use "radical" methods to inspire his students and offer them a better future.
