Shopping night
You know the situation: you want to score a (party) outfit before the weekend, get those last bits and pieces for a vacation or you simply feel like shopping now. Then it is nice if you still have the opportunity to do so after work. Amersfoort offers you that opportunity, because every Thursday is shopping night, when the stores are open until 21:00.
Shopping Sunday
In addition, every Sunday in Amersfoort is shopping Sunday! Most stores in the city center, shopping centers and the Eemplein are then open from 12:00 to 17:00. Home furnishing stores, construction stores and garden centers are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on shopping Sundays. The Albert Heijn on the Eemplein is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Holidays
On Easter Sunday, Whit Sunday, Christmas Day and New Year's Day, the stores are closed. On Christmas Eve, the stores are open until 5 p.m.

Parking in the center of Amersfoort
Did you know that the center is pedestrianized? So make sure you enter the right streets. If you want to park near the center of Amersfoort, you have several options. If you want to reach the shopping street (Langestraat) as quickly as possible, choose the parking garage on Koestraat. The parking garage on Stadshuisplein and Q-Park St. Jorisplein are also good options.
Are you going out of town by train? You can park near Amersfoort Central at Garage Argonaut or Q-Park Barchman Wuytierslaan, for example. Below is an overview of parking garages and rates:
Work around Amersfoort
Amersfoort remains accessible. But be prepared: ProRail is working on the tracks around Amersfoort from Saturday, July 6 until Sunday, August 18. As a result, Amersfoort Centraal will be less accessible or not accessible at all by train during this period. The NS is deploying buses to replace these trains.
