Singer Shirma honors Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul, one more time with a series of acoustic concerts. A tribute! Immerse yourself in an evening of delicious soul!

Shirma's rich, powerful and soulful voice makes her one of the most popular singers in the Netherlands. After her performance on The Voice, she took a leap to the next level of her career.

Her musical journey began as a backing vocal for artists such as Chaka Khan, Michael Bolton, Alain Clark, Candy Dulfer, Henny Vrienten and Anouk. Anouk represented the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2013 and Shirma Rouse was named best backing vocal by The Eurovision Times.

Shirma has released four albums and her third album, Shout It Out Loud, was awarded the Edison Jazzism Audience Award in 2015.

In 2017 and 2018, Shirma Rouse honored Aretha Franklin's 75th birthday with The Queen of Soul Celebration Tour, a series of concerts in the Netherlands and of Shirma's self-written through-sung theater show Shirma sings Aretha.

In August 2018, Aretha Franklin passed away suddenly. Shirma was asked by RTL Late Night to go to Detroit to attend the funeral, a very emotional and special request. Here she decided to honor the Queen of Soul one more time with a series of acoustic concerts. A tribute!
